Langelands Efterskole is not just any boarding school. It’s a community where creativity, fellowship, and freedom of expression are at the core. We set out to create a digital home that reflects this unique spirit: a place where students’ voices lead the way, where kærLEhed (their playful take on love) and youthful rebellion exist side by side, and where future students can sense what life on the island feels like.

Stories at the center

Together with the school, we created a digital universe where every page helps tell the story of life at Langelands Efterskole. Student voices and experiences are at the heart of the site – brought to life through images, video, sound, and text. The result is a website where you can feel the rhythm of everyday life, explore the school’s values, and get a true sense of what the different study lines have to offer.

Designing with duality

The design is built on play and flexibility. Vibrant color and bold typography set a lively tone, while the structure keeps the experience easy to navigate. As a nod to the diversity of student identities, we introduced a toggle between two modes: one rooted in love, creativity, and playfulness – the other darker, more rebellious, anarchist in tone. This duality mirrors the real student community, where the free-spirited and the rule-breaking thrive side by side.
